test. they started the d.u.i. patrol on friday. since friday, they made over 2,000 stops across the state of arizona, over 2,000 stops, they made 98 misdemeanor d.u.i. arrests. there has been 15 aggravated d.u.i. arrest, those are arrests with a child in the car or something like that. they also arrested five people age of 21. so far, the average blood-alcohol level is .167, which is twice the legal limit. the message from the valley officers is please, don't drink and drive. >> anybody who wants to go out and have a good time does it safely and does not cause any other issues whether it is collisions or hitting pedestrians on the roadway. on halloween, you have a number

and we want to make sure they are safe as well. >> reporter: scottsdale police is just one of the half dozen agencies that are out in full force. this is where you end up if you get pulled over by a scottsdale officer and this is an example of the breath -- breathalyzer tests. one interesting note, last night they made one arrest, a woman here in scottsdale whose blood-alcohol level wasn't -- was .139. she hit a parked car. don't drink and drive, especially when there are families and kids on the streets. i'm nicole garcia, fox 10 news. >> aaa making sure everyone has a safe halloween offering people free rides.

mccain's re-election campaign. romney will be at sloan park at 6:30:00 p.m. the arizona democratic party taking on the republican party in federal court. >> democrats are claiming that the g.o.p. is trying to intimidate voters. what is this all about? steve krafft is live with the story tonight. steve? >> reporter: well, me show you where the complaint was filed in the striking federal courthouse in downtown phoenix. these lawsuits also filed in the theme, democrats say republicans are trying to tilt the election by intimidating voters but republicans say that the not happening. the complaint filed in federal court accuses the trump campaign and the arizona republican party in con speurrying to threaten and intimidate minorities in voting in the election. the goal, depressed voter

the complaint asks a judge for anyone to harass voters in anyway. the republican party says the complaint is nonsense. >> the relief they request is extreme in terms of, what they would ask the court to do to tell people not to do things in the future that are very likely first amendment protected. >> reporter: this is state democratic party we asked a spokesperson his response to what the republicans had to say and he declined saying the lawsuit speaks for itself. helen purcell says she is confident that elections are conducted fairly in arizona and contrary to what donald trump says in his rallies, there is no rigging going on. >> i don't care what he said. the election is not rigged.

do. >> reporter: this complaint, another indication of the intense atmosphere of the runup to the election on november 8. former maricopa county sheriff deputies have been sentenced on drug and theft charges. scott michael walters pleading guilty. he was arrested back in 2013 as a result of a string of robberies. police found items that were stole than were believed to be from the and evidence of selling drugs. caught on camera, a dramatic police chase in van nice, california. police chasing the driver of a stolen car. the chase winding through streets and parking lots for 45 minutes. the car narrowly missing other cars on the road. the driver makes a bad turn and traps himself in a parking lot

he was swaoezed -- squeezed by one police car and ran into another police cruiser head on. the driver had no intention of giving up. he sat there until police walked up the car, smashed the window, and dragged the young suspect out of the car where he was take into custody. the arizona cardinals, every tight spot they were in, the figured out a way to win. another disappointing loss yesterday, two more players injured. >> all eyes on the next few games to see if they are still within reach of the playoffs. >> reporter: it has one of the signs where it is not working for you. starting left tackle will be lost for the season with a torn tricep injury and that is not all.

one valley eight-year-old this 8-year-old valley boy does not need a halloween costume to dress up. he's done it for a long time.

been dying down. 26 miles an hour on the wind kpwufts -- gusts in show low. we run through monday, tuesday, wednesday and look what happens into thursday. we see that stuff on the eastern side. we keep it going here. here is late in the day on thursday. the stuff should be out of here by the weekend. 86 degrees was the high today. 83 in 82 out in buckeye. we had 84 in chandler. temperatures all pretty close to the mid 80's that we were expecting. 86 is mentioned in phoenix. 75 up in sedona. 62 in flagstaff. 86 in safford. 90 down in tucson. 81 degrees down in yuma. take a look at what we're forecasting for the lows tonight. the lows are looking pretty good

we get down to the 50's in some areas. things are changing a little bit. 86 on the high. there is your record high at 96. record low at 36. as we look at the forecast highs for tomorrow, we bring it down another notch as we go to 80 degrees. low 80's surrounding that. we will see 50's, 60's, 70's in the mountains. in the deserts, we will stay with the 80's and they will be looking across the country, up to 11 inches of snow in the northwest. we get heavy rain with .75 of an inch in some places and windy conditions across the plains as well. mild to warm weather across the east and here, 60 degrees overnight. we'll be looking at 80 degrees tomorrow. a few clouds hanging out. we stay with the 80's and bring the sunshine back.

i spent many years as a nuclear missile launch officer. if the president gave the order we had to launch the missiles, that would be it. i prayed that call would never come. this is kind of a bummer. 10% fewer adults will be handing out halloween candy this year that is 68% that will be handing out treats instead of 78% like last year. 23% of adults say they will hand out something other than candy that is grounds if arrest big-time egging of your house, by the way. meaning only 45% of people actually hand out real candy. >> i liked it when you go to the dentist's house and they hand out trao*t brush and toothpaste that is something you can use. >> it is but that invites dairy products being hurled at your house. kids spending halloween in the hospital is not missing out

trick-or-treating themselves at phoenix children's hospital and super heros got into the act. >> linda williams has more on what is going on. >> reporter: i love this story, cops, kids, candy, and costume, certainly all of the ingredients for this terrific halloween event at banner thunderbird hospital and these families could use som sometimes when you need a hero, they not only arrive just in time but they come bearing candy, lots of it. the swat team turned what could have been a dreary halloween for some patients into a party. >> it has been a hard month for us. watching her have fun while we're here is important to me. >> reporter: swat officers
